Six questions, in the order we ask them. What does the founder know that her field has not accepted yet? Who is hurt by the problem today, and how urgently? What is hard to copy about the technology or the process? How large does the market get if it works? Can she hire and lead the people this needs? And will the company still matter in ten years?
Seed companies are unfinished, and we do not expect otherwise. Direction and judgment count for more than a polished deck.
