Someone knew before the rest of us. That is the whole job at seed: sitting with a founder two years before her field agrees with her, and deciding whether she is early or simply wrong.
LIMELIGHT is a name for that moment of attention. We look for work that deserves it before the wider world catches up.

Original vision is an investable advantage
Consensus ideas are priced. The insights worth funding usually sound wrong for a year or two, and they tend to come from someone who has spent a decade close to the problem — in a lab, on a launch pad, inside a model.

The person behind the company matters
The plan we back at seed is rarely the plan that works. What survives is the founder: how she decides with bad data, how she treats people when it goes wrong, how fast she changes her mind when the evidence changes.

We ask what shipped in the last six months, who runs the hard parts, and what the next milestone costs. A vision with no schedule is an essay.

Meaning and financial value reinforce one another
The companies that shorten a diagnosis, cut a launch cost or make a model useful to a scientist have customers who cannot easily replace them. That is where returns come from, not despite the ambition but because of it.

We would rather map a small field completely than chase the deals everyone already sees. When the universe is a few hundred founders, the first call comes to us.

LIMELIGHT Ventures grows from a long-standing interest in people whose vision changes the world.
Its philosophy is connected to LIMELIGHT Vision, Yana Lande’s multidisciplinary art project devoted to visibility, human achievement, and the individuals whose work transforms culture, knowledge and public life. The firm carries that inquiry into entrepreneurship: who is building the future, what do they see before others see it, and what becomes possible if their vision receives the right support.
